Gotham Falls-Book 1-7 Days With the Joker-Prologue

Crime had been worsening in Gotham and even Batman and his allies were struggling to cope with the many villains which were running about the city causing havoc. As a result, several Swat crews had been drafted from the army and GCPD to cope with the increasing demand...

Swat vans pulled up beside a warehouse and skilled officers clad in bullet proof armour, armed with assault rifles, poured out of them; totalling 31 men and women.The person leading this unit was Aaron Jones, a young man who had risen through the ranks of Gotham's justice system to where he was now over the space of 3 years. He stood at about 6 foot with short brown hair and green eyes.
Raising a megaphone to his mouth, he spoke, "Come out with your hands up, Joker! And that goes for any accomplices in there." The action was pointless as the Joker had only ever come clean when he was about to unleash an evil plot which involved him getting caught, but human (if you could call the Joker a human) rights demanded it of them to give villains a chance to come cleanly and calmly.
As expected, nothing happened. Aaron lowered the megaphone and spoke through the comms unit to all of his officers, "Move in." Just as he spoke a sudden cloud of smoke obscured everything from view and an incredibly loud speaker blared out laughter. The officers switched heat vision goggles on to see through the cloud and made slow progress to the doors of the warehouse, cautious for any traps and scanning the area in front for enemy thugs.
From behind, several of Joker's thugs stealthily came with cloth soaked in chloroform. They proceeded to dispatch the officers at the back by pulling down their masks and then covering their mouths with the cloths until they passed out. They worked their way across the group. As a thug reached Aaron, he placed the chloroform napkin over Aaron's face. Aaron feigned panic, flailing his arms before going limp. After the thug removed the cloth, thinking that Aaron was unconscious, Aaron twisted around, snatched and stuffed the napkin in the thug's mouth who quickly passed out afterwards. Aaron went to notify his officers through the comms that they were under attack but then the Joker's twisted laughing blared out through the comms as well, drowning out Aaron's commands and causing the Swat officers to remove their comms unit from their ears as the loud noise was deafening.
"NO!" Aaron shouted, desperately trying to warn his officers but his cries were never heard over the constant laughter still coming from the first speaker.
Before Aaron could do anything else, another thug managed to get the better of him while he panicked. Aaron tugged and tried the same trick, feigning unconsciousness but this thug had seen what happened before and kept the cloth on him until Aaron could hold his breath no longer,

The last thing Aaron could remember before he passed out was the laughter.
